Say hi to Tibbs! This cutie enjoys meeting new people and going for long walks. She's still working on her manners and can get a little jumpy when excited, so adopters should be excited about training! She doesn't enjoy anyone reaching for her food while she eats, so she may do best in a home without small children or any dogs that might try to share.
Mo is a gentle yet fearful 5 month old Terrier mix who is looking for a special family willing to adopt this very shy guy. Upon arrival at the shelter, Mo was shut down in his kennel and afraid to do simple things like go outside or even walk on a leash. He’s spent some time as an foster, and while he is slowly making progress, Mo still has a lot to learn to continue to build his confidence. We discovered that he’s braver when another dog is around, and he enjoys playing with canine friends, so we think he would do best in a home with another dog who he can learn from. He is nervous when he meets new people, but he warms up faster when another dog and treats are involved, Mo has also done well with the cats in his foster home. Once he does, he likes chin scratches and will return the love by offering you some kisses. His crate is his safe space, and he’ll want a quiet place where his crate can go so he can retreat when he’s feeling unsure. He is not house trained, and will need his foster family to continue teaching him things like how to go potty outside - we think he’d do well with a fenced in yard. Because he’s nervous, he may do best in a calmer home environment – which likely means adults and older teens only.
Mo is curently in a FOSTER HOME and not in the building for meet and greets. If you are interested in Mo, please submit an inquiry.
Say hello to Mrs. Puff! She might not be a boating school teacher but she's gonna make a great student for training. This food motivated girl has a lot to learn when it comes to commands and manners, but give her a treat and she'll be willing to listen! She loves hanging out with people, playing with toys and getting lots of affection. Adopters should be prepared to work slowly as she adjusts and becomes comfortable in a new home and envitonment.
Meet Doc! This pup is looking for a foster home where he can learn all about what it means to live in a home and be a companion. He didn't have the best start to life, so he will need a patient foster who can take things at his pace and work on basic skills like crate training, housebreaking, and basic obedience. Doc has already spent some time in a foster home and has been working on these skills. He is also still learning to be polite when taking treats, so a home without small children would be best.
Please note, Doc is not available for adoption but is available for foster due to his history. Any potential foster will need to go through a brief orientation and live within an hour's drive of NEAS.

Nik is full of enthusiasm and finds so much joy in meeting new people, going on walks, rides in the car, and most of all playing with his many dog friends - seriously, he's friends with every dog he meets! He's a regular social butterfly who is ready to say hi to anybody and everybody. On top of being enthusiastic, Nik gets excited very easily and is still lacking manners, so young kids may not be the best fit...he would love a dog sibling to wrestle with however!
Meet Diva! This sassy lady is a happy, friendly girl with tons of energy who loves to walk and play. Since she's still a puppy, any potential adopters should be excited about helping her with training on manners and walking on the leash so she can get ready to take center stage. As a true primadonna, Diva would prefer not to share the limelight with any other dogs.
Say hi to Arturo, a sweet guy with the most contagious smile. This pup loves doing zoomies around the yard, nuzzling people for scratches and playing with all the toys he can get his mouth on. He gets nervous when meeting new people, but slowly warms up with the help of patience and treats! Adopters should be prepared to work slowly with him as he adjusts to a new environment. He would do best in a home without any young children, and should meet any canine siblings before going home.
This sweet girl is Liz, and she loves hanging out with people and training for treats. Adopters should be prepared to work slowly with her as she becomes comfortable and settles into a new environment. Other dogs make her nervous so she's looking to be the only dog in your home!
Say hi to Wizard! You gotta be careful or he might cast a few spells and steal your heart! This silly dude will make you laugh with all his goofy antics. He's got lots of energy to burn and is looking for adopters with an active lifestyle that he can tag along with. He is still working on his manners and managing his energy levels, but the good thing is that he makes a great student for training! He'd do best in a home without any young kids that he could knock over. Wizard loves to play with other dogs and has a rough and tumble play style, so potential canine siblings should be okay with that.
This loveable landseal is known as Seuss. He's a social pittie who enjoys spending time with people, he also enjoys training and learning new skills. His favorite thing to do is sit on the ground and lean into your legs while getting full body pets. Seuss would love to continue his learning so he would really love an adopter who's excited about training to help him become the best boy he can be! Due to his size and excitement levels, he would do best meeting any potential human siblings. He's also enjoyed meeting dogs at the shelter and should meet any potential canine siblings before going home to make sure they're a good fit with his playstyle.
Meet Bashful! This pup is looking for a foster home where she can learn all about what it means to live in a home and be a companion. She didn't have the best start to life, so she will need a patient foster who can take things at her pace and work on basic skills like crate training, housebreaking, and basic obedience.
Please note, Bashful is not available for adoption but is available for foster due to her history, with the potential of foster-to-adopt. Any potential foster will need to go through a brief orientation and live within an hour's drive of NEAS.
This sweet girl is Bubbles! She’s a smart pup that loves to spend time with people and makes a great student for training. There's nothing this girl loves more than a tennis ball- whether it's playing fetch or settling down by her people with a ball in her mouth. She can be a bit shy at first, but warms up when treats or toys are involved. She would thrive in a calm household with a family that will give her the time she needs to settle in. While she's been uncertain about playing with dogs here at the shelter, she's done great on field trips walking alongside other dogs and would enjoy having some dog friends outside of the home!
Charlotte is 6 months old and absolutely LOVES people, affection and snuggles. Laps are her favorite place to sit, and when she sees new people her entire body wiggles with excitement. She has bursts of puppy energy for about 10 minutes, and then she’s ready to loaf! And while very social with humans, Charlotte finds other dogs extremely stressful and is looking for a home where she will be the only dog, and where she won’t be exposed to other dogs regularly. Her new family will, however, need to devote plenty of time to help her learn that dogs are not scary, ideally by working with the right behavior professional to do so. We have begun doing some of this work here at the shelter, and we’re really happy with the progress we’ve seen. The behavior team will be excited to show potential adopters the work they have done with her so far, so they can help adopters to continue that training process in her new home. Charlotte is incredibly smart, and learns new things quickly, and we’re eager for her to continue learning.
Meet Scooter! This bouncy boy loves to spend time around people and wants nothing more than to play with some toys! His favorite thing to do is bounce a ball around the room and chase after it like the goof he is. He's still lacking in manners and is looking for a committed adopter who's excited about training to help him become the best boy he can be! Due to his size and excitement levels, a home without small children would be best. He should meet any potential canine siblings before going home to make sure they're a good fit with his playstyle.
