In fact, having a dog buddy helps boost my confidence and makes me more comfortable in new situations. I've had a bit of a rollercoaster ride in my young life, with multiple transitions and not much consistency. So, during my first few weeks in my new home, it's important to give me time to decompress and adjust. My world should be small and predictable initially, with limited exposure to new people, dogs, or places. I'm sensitive to changes in my environment and can easily become overwhelmed. I need a patient and understanding adopter who can keep my world controlled and manageable. Please avoid big gatherings or visits to busy places during my settling-in period.
